About The Lennox

The Lennox Children’s Cancer Fund is a national registered charity committed to providing direct emotional, practical and financial support to children and their families affected by cancer and leukaemia. 

When founded in 1992, the intention of The Lennox was to help hospitals with specialist children’s cancer wards by funding the provision of equipment, refurbishments, toys, computer games and parties for the children.  This has been done in no small measure and has continued over the years. 

However, it became recognised through this work the fact that childhood cancer does more than endanger (and often claim) the lives of innocent youngsters; it drastically affects the whole family, and for this reason the Lennox was expanded to help these families more directly.

With the aim of giving individuals affected by cancer the opportunity to live the same quality of life we would hope for ourselves, The Lennox embarked upon a range of projects to bring some measure of relief to the families. Two of these projects are welfare grants and crisis breaks.

It is always devastating blow when cancer attacks but never more so than when the victim is a child.

The whole family’s lives are changed forever.  The realisation that they may lose a loved child is sometimes impossible to come to terms with.  Sometimes they can't deal with their grief; they need sustained help and support to cope with the long period of often painful treatment.

That support may be putting them in contact with other families who have lived through the trauma, it may be helping to look after their other children so that the parents can stay with the child in hospital, it can be providing them with a desperately needed holiday, or it may be providing the hospital with funding to buy a vital piece of equipment.

All of the services we provide are funded by the generosity of our supporters.  Whatever you can give, no matter how large or small it can go a long way to making a BIG difference to the lives of children suffering from cancer or leukaemia and to that of their family's.
